Cotton is a natural fiber grown by millions of farmers worldwide, and at Flynn, we prioritize responsibly sourced cotton in our collections each season. Cotton is valued for its breathability, softness, and versatility, making it a staple in any wardrobe. To ensure your cotton garments stay in top condition and last season after season, proper care is essential.

HOW TO WASH, DRY, AND IRON COTTON

A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

MACHINE WASHING
Always check the care label on your cotton garments to ensure they are washed correctly for maximum longevity.

STEP 1
Pre-treat any oil-based stains by spot cleaning with detergent or stain remover, then rinse thoroughly before placing the item in the washing machine.

STEP 2
Turn the cotton garment inside out to protect the fabric during washing.

STEP 3
Avoid overloading the washing machine. Ensure garments have enough space to move freely, and always wash similar colors together to prevent color transfer.

STEP 4
Add the appropriate amount of washing detergent for the load size. You may also use fabric softener to help reduce static.

STEP 5
Select a 30-degree wash cycle on your machine to gently clean the cotton without causing shrinkage or damage.

DRYING
Cotton garments should be air-dried to maintain their shape and softness.

STEP 1
After washing, give the garments a gentle stretch to help them return to their original shape.

STEP 2
Air dry the clothes flat and out of direct sunlight whenever possible to prevent fading and maintain the fabric’s integrity.

IRONING
Ironing can help cotton garments look crisp, but it's important to follow the right techniques to avoid damage.

STEP 1
Cotton is prone to creasing, so ironing is often necessary. Refer to the care label for the recommended iron temperature setting.

STEP 2
Iron cotton items while they are still slightly damp, or use the steam setting on your iron for best results. Ensure the items are completely dry before folding and storing them.

STEP 3
For items like T-shirts and jeans, ironing may not be needed. Simply stretch them gently after washing and air dry them flat to avoid wrinkles.
